Should love be conditional? Is it already conditional? The only - TopicsExpress

Should love be conditional? Is it already conditional? The only argument that Ive heard on the subject is that it is, because it is based in virtue. So for example, virtuous people love other virtuous people. and dislike non-virtuous people. It doesnt matter how hot that girl is, if she sets puppies on fire shes a no-go. And then on the other hand, non-virtuous people hate virtuous people because virtuous people act on their virtue to prevent non-virtuous people from doing immoral things, or the virtuous people call the non-virtuous people out on their immorality. So in that way, non-virtuous people never truly like virtuous people, and virtuous people dont like non-virtuous people. Obviously there are other smaller factors like aesthetics and similarities that go into loving someone, but being virtuous can make or break the attraction, at least according to this argument. This is a sound argument from what little I have looked into this question, what are your thoughts, o wise philosophers?
