Showers already developing over parts of SW VA and eastern KY is a good sign the air is a lot more unstable today. A complex of storms is expected to move near the area. Combined with additional heating of the day, that will translate into potential for strong to severe storms. Timing is always tricky is these situations. I would expect to see some storms around after 4 or 5pm today, increasing in coverage through the evening and overnight hours.
