Shri Kambhampati Rama Mohana Rao today called on Shri Manohar Parrikar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Defence along with a delegation of Union Members of Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam and requested him to look into the problems being faced by the Hindustan Shipyard Limited, which is in financial crunch due to paucity of high value orders Shri Kambhampati emphasized that the small orders would not help for its revival and also not being treated on par with other PSUs under the Ministry of Defence. He has also reiterated to the Hon’ble Minister that due to scarcity of the high value orders and also due to recent Hudhud Cyclone, the yard requires huge financial commitments towards post cyclone relief activities. The Hon’ble Defence Minister mentioned that he has been briefed by the Officers concerned and he studied the issue. He has asked Shri Kambhampati to give time up to February, 2015 so that he can sort out the issue by then. He further stated that he heeded to the problems being faced by the employees and will try to resolve the issue. The Hon’ble Defence Minister has positively responded to the look into the matter and on the request of Shri Kambhampati Rama Mohana Rao, he has informed that he will be visiting Andhra Pradesh as well as Hindustan Shipyard Limited., during February, 2015.
