Shubh Divali!! Namaskar and peace to you all, Following my previous email about Dhanteras, we move to the second day of the five day connection series of Divali/Deepavali (ornament of light). The dhanteras connection is to acknowledge the importance of injecting light in health and wealth well-being to eliminate the chaos on our life. Today, on the 14th day of the Hindu month of Kartika, the day just before Deepawali is known as Naraka Chaturdashi. Narak is mostly translated as hell, but actually it signifies the state of mind and consciousness. In other words we are disconnected form the Divine and our life is in the state of doubt, fear and uncertainty. Chaturdashi means 14th day of the dark fortnight of the month Kartika. This day is also known as Choti Diwali, Roop Chaturdashi and Roop Chaudas Religions perspective: The day is celebrated to commemorate Sri Krsna slaying of the demon Narakasura who had tormented the human beings for long. Spiritual significance: This auspicious day is an occasion when one can seek divine intervention for light to remove the chaos and darkness in all aspects of our lives. Be humble, merciful, no judgment and share love and light and increase your personal light magnetism. That is the spiritual significance of Narak Chaturdashi-the day just before Deepawali-The Festival of Lights. Naturally, some spiritual sadhanas can be performed, however this should be done by the guidance of a teacher/qualified person. Shubh Divali! With Love and Light, Mohnish Sharma
