Sidney’s gamble on a last-second, two-point conversion attempt went the way of Vandalia Butler. Yellow Jackets quarterback Jordan Fox connected with Tyler Cox on a 6-yard touchdown pass with eight seconds left in Friday night’s high school football game. Sidney closed within 20-19. The Yellow Jackets went for the win with a two-point conversion, but it failed when Fox’s pass was batted down in the end zone. Chandler Craine had two touchdown passes for Vandalia. He hit Jordan Muhlenkamp with a 41-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, then connected with Michael Profitt for a 9-yard touchdown in the fourth to give Vandalia the lead. Fox threw two touchdown passes — the first 7-yards to Zach Scott in the first quarter. He also rushed for a 3-yard score in the second. Michael Hutchinson rushed for 77 yards for the Aviators. He had an 11-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Vandalia (5-3) stayed perfect in the Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division at 2-0.
