Sigh..Gun rights. Why not. :). : To My Left & Right Wing Friends: I do not understand why the average citizen would want to carry anything larger that could kill an elephant, or how having an AK-47 is a responsible or perhaps reasonable interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. Perhaps for end of of times, but Im not there yet, and neither are any of you. That said, people kill people, not guns. The only question is, who has that right to pull the trigger? My wife is against gun ownership. I am pro gun ownership for the very reasons this Doctor highlighted in the article below carried a gun: It may save the life of me and my family. This Doctor was well trained, and not mentally ill. Those are my only two criteria for an American to own and carry a concealed gun: 1. Training /safety 2. Not being crazy or a convicted felon. Its not a matter of if, but probably more of a matter of when a deranged parent walks through our clinic door with the intent to kill somebody. That is not paranoia, but simply the thoughts of someone who has worked with highly paranoid people, and know what they are sometimes capable are. So with these thoughts in mind, as well as the imagined restrictions of not owning a hand held missile launcher, being mentally ill, or being a convicted felon, for the life of me, can someone explain to me why I should NOT have access to a concealed firearm both at my house and my clinic?
