Sighted in a new deer rifle today. I have been looking for a Remington model 760 in the carbine for some time now. I have used a Remington model 760 in the rifle model since high school. I would put my old 760 up against ANY out of the box rifle. With a Leopould 3 X 9 scope it can shoot Quarters off of a fence post at 100 yards ALL day long....Im not too impressed with tis new carbine with a Leopould 2 x 7 scope the best I can get at 100 yards is a 2 to 3 inch group.....I bought this carbine used because Remington ,years ago discontinued the 760 and replaced it with the model 7600...Still the 7600 is not {in my opinion] the same quality gun as the original 760....For deer hunting in the big woods of Pa. a 2 inch group at 100 yards is adequate,,,My old 760 loves Remington core loks in 150 grain....Maybe I should try a different bullet in my carbine ???????????
