Signs of the times: I stopped to get gas today, and there were long lines of people preparing to travel this flowery weekend I suppose. With gas at 3.78, people fill up as usual. When it gets to 5.00 a gallon, I imagine they will do the same thing. And then a long stream of traffic kept me trapped there for longer than you might imagine. The lady at the station was putting away cigarettes--locked under the counter--and I asked her what a pack of camels cost these days. Five dollars and 38 cents! And some brands were higher. You would think that would deter people from smoking, but no, just like gas, life goes on. Civilization has become a MONEY MONSTER.
