Simple yet effective way to unload your spine after a tiring day at work or heavy loading / lifting. Why? Unloads, relaxes and stretches all the muscles in and around your spine and with the closest grip - a really good lat stretch (the muscles under your armpits) How? Find a fixed pole / bar (if using a barbell on a rack, make sure it wont fly off when you lean off it!) and use a shoulder-width or closer grip to hold with. position your feet shoulder-width apart and relatively close to the bar. Hold on tight and just lean / sit back into the stretch and relax - focus on breathing out, which is when your muslces are most relaxed. Hold this for at least 15 seconds. Advanced: This is the 2nd part of the video, if you can support your own bodyweight then try this one for a better unload. You will get a good unloading on both but I find that the 1st one is best for your lower back whereas the 2nd one is best for stretching your lats. Give them a go and see how much taller you feel!
