Since August 1956, Dixon Family Reunions have been an annual tradition for over one hundred family and friends. Initially the reunions began as a memorial to the life and legacy of William Henry Dixon and hosted by his widow, Mary Pitt Dixon, at their home place, 736 25th Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee. Since that time the reunions have been held by most branches of the family, gathering in their homes and public facilities, including Metro community centers, Disney World, State parks and most recently, in Atlanta, Georgia at chain hotels. Regardless of the venue, it’s a joyous occasion deeply rooted in pride, respect and love spanning at least five generations of Dixon descendants, extended family and friends.
