Since Google is celebrating Vassily Kandinskys 148th birthday, I figured id do something for my Facebook blog. Kandinsky is one of the greatest painters of all times and I consider him to be one of the best designers as well. He was one of the most influential German Expressionists and a founder of Der Blaue Reiter or The Blue Riders which was a team of abstract expressionists hailing from Germany during the 20th century. He was a true master of light, color, composition, and design. He was also a teacher of one of the greatest architecture an design schools of all time known as The Bauhaus. Ive done countless papers in art school about that place and the work that was produced from there is still timeless. He was truly ahead of his time and he faced a lot of oppression during the Nazi hold on Germany and almost lost his life over his dedication to expressing for how he saw the world as an artists. German Expressionism is one of my favorite art movements because of its study on human psychology, during such an oppressive time, an the work that was produced in that era was made by some of the greatest modernists of all time. Oppression is always fuel for greatness thats why I have to tip my hat off to Mr. Kandinsky. In honor of Kandinskys work I made a video thumbing through a book dedicated to The Blue Rider movement.
