Since I am new to all this I have am very vulnerable to believing what I am told by people who say they know the truth. I need outside opinion other then what I am getting from my boyfriend who has been the only one teaching me scripture. We are not married but have dated for almost 8 years. He says that we are married in our hearts and that YHWH is ok with us acting like we are married even though we are not legally married. By acting I hope you know what I mean. He claims that the OT allows men to act this way towards any woman who he has taken under his wing and plans to marry. For women though, this is not allowed. Meaning that I can not go be with whoever I want to b/c I now belong to him so we are not sinning when we are together but if I were to go elsewhere and be with another man that would be a sin. For him as a man though he is allowed to be with other woman if he chooses to take them under his wing since Abraham has wives and concubines.....I am so confused....can someone just be straight with me....should I not be with him until we have made vows or is what he says the truth???
