Since I moved here I have discovered that quite a few people dont care about their horses. I applaud those who do, dont get me wrong! I see some horses with no cover from the sun or the rain to shield them from the heat or the water and that is sad, especially in the desert. You see, horses weigh about 1,200-1,300 lbs and are on their feet most of their life. So they deserve some shelter, even if it is a lean-to. They are beautiful animals and deserve better. If you know someone who has a horse with no shelter, consider offering to help them construct a simple, inexpensive roof over the horses head. Thank you.
