Since his untimely demise in 2006, the legacy of hip-hop - TopicsExpress

Since his untimely demise in 2006, the legacy of hip-hop production legend J Dilla has lived on through the works of numerous artists and groups, including that of his younger brother Illa J of Slum Village, and Frank Nitt of Frank n Dank. Both have worked extensively with Dilla in the past, and now in 2013 join together, bolstered by a treasure trove of lost Dilla beats and the blessing of Yancey Media Group to form the hip-hop duo Yancey Boys. The full-length debut album from the duo "Sunset Blvd." will be coming soon on Delicious Vinyl, and will appearances from Common, J Rocc, DEZI PAIGE, and many more, with Nitt and J rhyming over long-lost beats from Dilla himself. As a sneek peek, a video for the Yancey Boys track "The Fisherman" is now available, and will also appear as a B-side to the upcoming 12" single "Quicksand", also appearing on "Sunset Blvd."
