Since many of my on-line relationships are entrepreneurs: Here is a question for you. When do you make the break to pursue your business full time? It depends... Here is the reply from a guest at a conference... A year or so ago, I conducted a virtual listening tour, which involved speaking with 100+ entrepreneurs from across the country, many of whom worked full-time while they were getting their business off the ground. There was no single rule of thumb for making the break that I could distill from those conversations. It was a function of how much they had stockpiled in savings to bankroll their business for some period of time; how much income their business was generating and how confident they were in their revenue projections; how comfortable they were with taking the risk; and whether they had a strong fallback position (e.g., their skills were in enough demand that they could easily get project work.) What do you think?
