Since many people from abroad have asked about this case and to expand on my recent post here is the message by the family friend of the case of the missing child that many have been asking me about. Morning folks, I need to address a few things before we get Tuesday underway. As you know, we are entering day 5 of the search for 3 year old William Tyrell in Kendall NSW. Hopefully this note will answer the many questions I have been asked over and over again, and remind people of what is and is not acceptable to post on my page. Firstly, this photo shows you the terrain around the property where William was last seen so when people ask “Why haven’t they found him yet?” That’s why. The first thing I need to say, as it’s now getting out of hand and causing me both distress and frustration, is please DO NOT message me, e mail me and most certainly NOT post on the page anything you have been told about/heard about from psychics. I’m not getting into a debate about their use or validity, this is not the place, but I simply cannot read one more message that details horrific things that people “see” that they think has happened to this missing child. IT DOES NOT HELP. Aside from the fact that all the differing “visions” cannot all be correct, and most of them are vague (“He’ll be found near a tree”) no reputable psychic would ever say publicly the terrible things that I have seen posted online. If William’s family and friends see those, then God help you. If you have heard that a particular psychic “solves hundreds of murders and missing persons for the police”, I am here to say that’s not true. I acknowledge there are mediums and psychics with good reputations who some families of the missing have contacted - these are not the people I am referring to. So let this be your notice - no more messages, e mails or posts about psychics, those who ignore this will be banned. I understand that these people sending me the messages probably mean well but take a moment to consider how William’s family would feel if they read that. Read it, and think of it as if they were talking about YOUR child. Discuss it as much as you like on your own pages, but not on mine. Second thing is there is to be no discussion about the sinister things you “think” may have happened to William. Again, not helpful, to anyone. These types of comments cause terrible distress to the families and as none of us have any idea what has actually happened to William, there is nothing factual about the comments. If you can’t restrain yourself, then this is not the page for you. Messages of hope of support to his loved ones are encouraged and very welcome and big thanks to all who have shared William’s photo and spread the word. Also please don’t make critical comments about the Police/SES – you have no idea how difficult their task is and I’m sure it’s very easy to sit back in your lounge room watching a 20 second news update on the TV and think you know exactly what the Police investigation entails – you don’t. It’s difficult, complex and heartbreaking; these officers and volunteers have children themselves and are desperate to find William. YES, the Police are of course considering all other possibilities including abduction, they would have considered that on day one, it’s standard procedure. Just because they are not discussing it with the media doesn’t mean nothing is being done – that’s not the case at all. To answer other questions – YES the Police helicopter has been up every day, YES the dog squad has been out every day; the helicopter would be unlikely to be able to use infra-red camera technology due to the thickness of the bush HOWEVER the cameras have been used on the ground by searchers. YES, they are checking in trees as well as the ground. YES - It has been suggested many times to use Aboriginal trackers but as there have been hundreds of people through the bush it’s unlikely a tracker would be able to trace William. I am quite sure, with the extensive publicity, that if a tracker felt they could help, they’d be there. YES, you can help search, just go to Kendall showground and register. Others have asked the exact circumstances surrounding the disappearance and while there have been quite a few differing media reports and I can’t confirm the exact details, I believe what happened is William and his 8 year old sister were playing in the yard of his grandmother’s home – the media are reporting backyard but NSW Police’s original appeal stated front yard - his sister went inside to go to the toilet for a couple of minutes, when she came outside William was gone. There was no delay at all in starting a search, they have used every resource possibly available to try to locate him, they have specialist units from Sydney, they have drained dams and checked creeks, tanks, every possible place he could be, and they are double and triple checking and expanding that search today even further. Finally a HUGE shout out to the tremendous Police, SES and volunteers who have spent days searching through the bush for this little boy, you are truly heroes, and Australia thanks you.
