Since this issue needed to be addressed once, in our opinion Shia Muslims made a very big blunder by supporting Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in his quest to start deciding the faith of his countrymen. When a National Assembly of a country consisting of less than 340 members, most of whom are Agricultural Landlords, much less exposed to the world than an average Pakistani Graduate is, get together and decide that your relationship with God is such that Youre Not a Muslim; that is a massive blunder, which would ultimately prove to have huge consequences. The Liberals of that time had also warned the Shia Muslims, that today youre ganging up on the Ahmadis, tomorrow youll end up getting ganged up as well. However once the religious genie was let lose there was no stopping it, when the state set up an example of deciding the faith of its citizens, then others also followed suit, and the slogan of Kafir Kafir, Shia Kafir started echoing all over the country. The Wahabis openly started calling the Brelvis as Kafirs, the people who used to do Dhamal at Baba Bulleh Shahs Shrine started calling the those who prayed at Data Sahibs Shrine as Kafir. Those who say prayers with folded arms started calling those who prayed with open arms Kafir. Religious Extremism is a curse, How did you think that the serpent of Mullahs would spare you once you were done with the Ahmadis, when you dont have the same Kalima, the same Names, the same praying times, the same Aftari and Sehr times, the same Caliphs, the same islamic Jurisprudence, the same Imams? Today, for every citizen in Pakistan, there are two other citizens who consider them as Kafir. Thats the consequence of our doings, we sowed the seed, now were reaping them
