Since this week is my page anniversary week and so many of you have joined recently I am going to share some of the things about my family that gave me the courage to start this page. I will try to post something everyday. For now I would like to start with myself so those of you that have not heard or read my story can read it. As most of you know my name is Shari. I am a woman in my 40s that grew up in a loving home in NJ. I had many neighborhood friends all the way until 8th grade when we all started going in our own directions.I am blessed to have reconnected with some of them here on face book. My best friend from age 5 to now moved when we were thirteen but we are still very close. I used to spend more time with my nose in a book then anything. I was a child of the 80s and loved that decade and still do. We rode bikes, swam in the creek, went to day camp and of course my favorite summer is the one between 6 and 7 grade where several of us spent many weekends at six flags. Somewhere in 8th grade things changed as all my friends had the same homeroom teacher and I was in a different one. At that point I became shy and quiet which I now know was a lot of anxiety. I found it harder and harder to talk to people which got worse in High School. I would slink down in my chair in the hopes of not being called on to answer questions. I eventually made new friends and also we all drifted apart on and off through the years. In high school I was absent the amount of days which was allowed each semester which at that time was much more than these days. I somehow graduated and passed through. I tried a year of community college but school was never my thing so I asked my retail job if I could have more day hours and that worked for a while. I eventually moved out on my own when I was 19 and rented a room in a friends house. Not too long after that is when I met Rob. He had seen me in the bowling alley so asked one of my roommates to bring me to his place that he shared with another couple I had recently met. The roommate had me driving all over seaside before we found the right place. I thought we were going there so he could bring some wrestling tape over. I walked in and Rob was standing there in a beard looking like someone from ZZ Top and at that time I thought he was a 50 year old man. We all hung out and spent some time talking. I still did not know that this was Robs plan. A few weeks later there was issues where i was staying so Robs roommates offered me a room with them. When I had gone back Robs beard was shaved and he looked his age. We talked more and got to know each other and within a week after I moved in we were a couple. We got together May 8, 1991 and also he had paid the guy that had me bring him there 5 dollars and 2 packs of cigarettes to meet me. We lived together for 5 years and got married 18 years ago.
