Since today is the one year anniversary of being hit by a drunk driver, I would like to encourage everyone to always make sure your dogs do not ride loose in the car. Had my two been loose and not in their plastic crates, they would have certainly flown out of the broken windows or doors that were blown open on impact (or been missiles that cracked the windows themselves), they would most certainly not be here today. Attached is a photo of a fireman that had just removed my then-four-month-old puppy from her crate. Full of glass after the accident (we were hit in the rear), and water from their pails, they were scared, but, thankfully, safe and healthy.
