Since we decided to establish Economic Freedom Fighters last week Monday, i have not slept anything more than 4-5 hours. I am either out of the house, on the phone being shouted at by comrades who want to start working on the ground and feel that we are too slow in responding to their emails or i am sitting in front of a computer capturing data or writing statements. My mom is so supportive, though. Every night she ensures that i have a supply of fruits and warm water, and that the heater is switched on so that i do not get cold during the night. And every morning she comes into my room to remove my spectacles (because i often just doze off while working) and cover me with blankets. And she makes sure to remind me to charge my phones so that i can be able to take calls. And when i must leave home in a rush as i often do, she cleans and does the chores that i should do. I know that deep down, my mother believes in the cause, even though she has expressed some reservations. But i am extremely grateful to have a mother who supports me even when she does not fully agree with my decisions. This woman is my best friend and my comrade, and whatever difficulty lies ahead, i know that she will never desert me!
