Singapores latest highway and first undersea road tunnel opens on December 29, 2013. The 5km long Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) connects commuters from Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on the west to Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and East Coast Parkway (ECP) on the east. It also connects commuters to the new Marina Bay downtown. The MCE has five lanes in each direction. The tunnel section is 3.5km long with 420m under the seabed.
