Singapore’s founding generation was poor and had to work hard to survive. Many in that generation gave up or did not have opportunities to further their own education or interests. But their sacrifices allowed their children and grandchildren to develop skills and pursue passions. For instance, we often read of young Singaporean professionals today going on to climb mountains, run ultra-marathons, start successful pastry shops and food outlets... and making films too. ciNE65* taps into these energies and allows budding filmmakers to write their own chapters of our ongoing Singapore story, in their own unique ways. Sharing a clip that has been commissioned for this year’s competition. - Ng Eng Hen [*Admin- Into its 3rd season this year, ciNE65 is a platform for aspiring film-makers to share what Singapore means to them through film.The competition which started on 30 Dec 2014 will run till 6 April 2015.
