Sitting about fifteen feet from the Stage at Wingate park over twenty years ago I witnessed my twins father (worked at Bacardi at the time and they sponsored the concert) leave the stage after introducing Curtis. A swift wind comes by and the next thing I know the Introduction of Freddys dead comes on and then the next thing a float of one of the soda companies swings loose and rams onto stage and hits the lighting and trees start moving and Curtis Mayfield is knocked to the ground. It was the weirdest thing I had ever witnessed. It had always rained during the concerts for some reason that summer of 1990.
