Sitting in my swing listening to the sounds of the waterfall in the pond and numerous 6-footed critters singing. The birdsong seems to have flown south with the crowd and watching hummingbirds frantically tank up on sugar water is bittersweet. Very tense day at the orchard for me so a lot of cider with a little caramel vodka seems to be soothing just now. Trying hard to stomp down the feelings of regret at needing to become un-retired and the feelings of anger and resentment at how it happened and what we were left to deal with. More cider mix please. The Goldfinches are enjoying the seed I put out yesterday and the woodpeckers are feasting on suet cakes. Focusing on good things this evening.
