Sitting under bad, prejudiced and false teaching has a serious effect on the Christian. As it dealing in a spirit realm, the further from the truth, the more ego, shiny..the more Lucifer is present. Cloaked in imitation truth, recognition (self) is the great motivator, not Jesus Christ. Luke 6:39.."Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one, when he is fully taught, will be..like his teacher." Use discernment, and stay away from the bitter, anti crowd.
