Situation 1. The Principal of a school of Sathya Sai group of institutes advocates voting for change, voting for development. Media reaction - Communal poison divisive reactionary regressive hindu fanatic >:( ~~~ Situation 2. The Director of Banaras Hindu University writes to students to choose development over doles. Media reaction - divisive polarization Hindu fanatic Modi bhakt diediedie >:( ========== These did not happen. This is just a figment of my imagination, but the reactions are predictable. HOWEVER, the principal of St Xaviers college in Mumbai did indeed exactly do that. Dr Frazer Mascarenhas, SJ (Society of Jesus - the title means he is a Jesuit) has written an email to his students to think carefully before casting their vote, and in the process batted for the UPA and its FSB and MNREGA (the email is up on their website, and on Firstpost) Does this fall under protection of freedom of speech? Yes. Does it fall afoul of the model code of conduct? I dont know. But is this appropriate? And more importantly, is this a coordinated attack?
