While the players respective clubs are going through mixed fortunes, this award is a symbol of recognition for the outstanding individual talent on display in Englands top division. First nominee David De Gea has been in great form in November, helping Manchester United climb to 4th place in the table. De Gea was unable to prevent United losing the derby to Manchester City at the start of the month but he responded by keeping a clean sheet against Crystal Palace. Last weekend De Gea put in a man of the match performance to help Manchester United overcome Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates, thanks to a string of fine saves in the first half. United have taken six points from a possible nine so far, rising to fourth place in the table. Eden Hazard’s standout performances in November have helped keep Chelsea at the top of the Barclays Premier League. Hazard scored the winning goal in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over West London rivals QPR at the start of the month, following that up with a stellar performance to help Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield. Hazard scored again in the 2-0 victory over West Brom last weekend, helping Chelsea to take a maximum nine points out of nine to date this month. Winner of Octobers award - Arsenals Alexis Sanchez - is in contention to win the award again after impressing in November. The Chilean has scored three goals, including a brace to help Arsenal overcome Burnley at the start of the month and he also scored the opener in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against Swansea. Arsenals two November defeats have meant it hasn’t been a great month for the team, but Sanchez’s performances have been consistent. Arsenal are currently 8th in the Premier League table. Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero is currently the leading goalscorer in the Premier League this season with 12 goals. Three of those goals have come in the month of November to keep Manchester City in touch with Chelsea and Southampton at the top of the table. Aguero scored the winner in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Manchester derby and then followed this up with a brace against QPR, as Manchester City came from behind twice to draw 2-2. Manchester City have taken seven points from a possible nine in November so far. However, Newcastle are the form team in the Premier League at the moment, winning their last five Premier League games. The Toon are currently 5th in the table and the performances of midfielder Moussa Sissoko have been key to their rise up the table. The French midfielder has started all three of Newcastle’s games in November, helping the team to wins over Liverpool and West Brom. Sissoko capped a fine month so far by scoring the winner in Newcastle’s 1-0 victory over QPR last weekend. The final nominee is Southampton full back Nathaniel Clyne, who capped a great month with his first full England cap last week. Clyne is part of a Southampton defence that has conceded just six goals so far and a team that sits second in the league. The Saints have taken seven points from a possible nine in November, in a run that included two cleans sheets in wins over Hull and Leicester respectively. Clyne scored his first league goal of the season on Monday night to rescue a point for his side, as they drew 1-1 with Aston Villa.
