Six communities descended from the Irasusi family, Sagamu, Ogun State, have filed a suit against the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and three other defendants over alleged illegal takeover and sale of their farmland without adequate compensation. The claimants, led by Babatunde Mabawonku, through their counsel, Ade Adeoye, filed the suit with No. HSC/215/14 at High Court, Sagamu on October 30. Also joined in the suit as defendants are Attorney General of Ogun State, Teju Industries Limited and Springfields Agro-Allied Limited. The claimants/communities include: Melufen, Farati, Ateri, Rasusi, Olowu and Erejigon. They said the Irasusi family owned the parcel of 250,165 hectares land sketched out in survey sketch plan number OG/1286/2012/30 which includes all six communities and is located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at the Sagamu Interchange axis. The plaintiffs in the suit said they were surprised that on June 16, the representatives and officers of the 1st-4th defendants moved into a part of the land in dispute with bulldozers and cleared it. They alleged the first defendant, the state Governor, did not serve a notice of acquisition of the land on the claimants.
