Six great country bands, a dozen-plus food trucks, Harley’s, hot rods and cold beer come together Sunday for the Billy Reasons Military Support Foundation Benefit in downtown Margate. _______________ The party starts at noon and bands play until sundown on the southwest corner of Margate Boulevard and State Rd. 7. The line-up of live performances includes the Nash Carey Band, Rough Shot, Cecilia Lauren, Ciara Rae, and 33 Years - all major players on the country music scene. Emcee for the event is Las Vegas entertainer and hilarious Tom Daw as “Larry the Cable Guy.” V-Twin City South Florida will be showing off cool rides on two wheels and four and independent custom bikes, cars and trucks are invited to join the show. For those who cook country style, a panel of judges will be selecting a dish to feature on a local menu - so competitive cookers are encouraged to bring their best dish - hot or cold. For those who don’t cook, the Gourmet Food Truck Expo will motor in with 15 mobile munchie wagons on wheels (see listing below) serving up sausage, cheesesteaks, BBQ, seafood and sweets. Lager lovers can grab a cold one in the Beer Garden next to the stage. The event was relocated at the last minute from the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre to downtown Margate. All proceeds raised will benefit the Billy Reasons Support Foundation, a federal 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting the families of American military servicemen and woman that have been deployed around the globe. A country singer and songwriter himself, Reasons has performed for troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and the U.S. and was recognized at the 46th Annual Country Music Awards. He will play at Sunday’s event. The 1st Annual Country Music and Food Fest is hosted by Omears’s Irish Pub and produced by A1Promotions Goup. Michael Mcerlean from the U.S. Department of Defense will make an appearance.
