Six months ago today, I woke up and had my precious babies at just a day shy of 25 weeks pregnant. Somehow Jasper had turned breech overnight and broke my water. We never knew something (in this case some things) could be so tiny and still hold such a huge place in our hearts. I used to blame myself for the twins being born so early. I kept thinking that I could have done something different. Weve come to realize, it was a blessing in disguise. We also found that most people take the little things for granted. We got to savor the firsts that most parents wouldnt think twice about. I remember the first time grasping their hands. The first time we got to rub their skin (When they were really little, it wasnt allowed because it would feel like sandpaper on their fragile skin). I remember the first time picking up Jasper with just my hands .This was a separate time than holding them in our arms for the first time. The very first time we were allowed to rock them. You get the picture. These are all some of the happiest moments in our lives. We got the chance to build relationships with nurses and parents who were going through the exact same thing. I am grateful for my little miracles. They changed our lives for the better. And I believe that God put them in our lives when He did for a reason. Happy six months to my wonderful kiddos!
