Six years ago Kristen and I had the vision to impact a school and community in Moshi, Tanzania. With the assistance of our K2 Adventures Foundation Board of Directors and over 400 K2 Travelers, we have achieved our vision. We have provided health and dental care in the medical facility we built on-site, computer labs, new roofs and bathrooms, sustainable programs to include a 2 acre garden, chicken coops that produce 70-80 eggs a day, cows that produce 2 gallons of milk a day and a well to pump endless water to the buildings and garden. At this time, our garden has over 400 banana trees, over 200 avocado and citrus trees, half acre of beans, tomatoes, green peppers and papayas. A donation of a tractor to plow the garden now does the work of four people for a month in one day! We have provided new classroom books in all subjects and grade levels and put in a more efficient stove for cooking. All of these improvements have brought this failing school to one of the most sought after schools in the entire country!
