Six youths were arrested after a short police pursuit in a stolen car on the Eyre Peninsula overnight. Police will allege the group stolen a Holden station wagon from Port Lincoln and crashed it at Coffin Bay. The station wagon was also further damaged by the offenders following the crash. The group then walked for several hours along the Flinders Highway back towards Port Lincoln before stealing a Ford van from a farm. Police spotted the group in the stolen van just minutes later, just before 3am, and pursued the van for several minutes before the chase ended about 20 kilometres west of Port Lincoln. Six youths, five boys and one girl, all aged 14 or 15, were arrested and charged with two counts of illegal use.
