Sixty model years ago this year, thanks to its body supplier being bought out in 1954, Packard was forced to take production in-house. The location for this was a tiny factory in Detroit, which meant the quality suffered, which contributed greatly to the brands demise. Other factors were at play, but if Packard hadnt had that sudden dip in quality, could they have weathered the storm? Anyway, lets focus on one of Packards great cars – this 1933 Packard Twelve Individual Custom All-Weather Town Car Landaulet. Wearing LeBaron clothes over its V12 engine, its just the thing for romping around the countryside –160bhp will more than help. Youll need an estimated $275,000 - $350,000, however. Its up for grabs at RM Auctions January sale. Photo Credit: Ronnie Renaldi ©2015 Courtesy of RM Auctions
