Skoda says the board is against micromanaging district affairs but there is evidence to suggest otherwise. **************************************************************** Board President Richard Skoda said the board never discussed outsourcing in open or closed sessions. An attempt to eliminate the workers’ jobs after they voted to organize would be illegal, Skoda said. Drake said a key grievance [against the board] is the loss of overtime to the outside firm. District 86 employees have come to depend on overtime, because Drake said they are paid an average of 10 to 40 percent less than in comparable surrounding districts. “A lot of us that work for this district count on overtime to supplement our income. It’s difficult to live off 40 hours per week,” Drake said. “By losing our overtime, the district is attempting to starve us out, so we quit and they can replace us.” hinsdale.suntimes/2014/09/22/hinsdale-district-86-board-face-contract-talks-second-union/
