Smart Meters Remember the stimulus that Obama and his los federales cronies stuffed down our throats a few years ago? Typical big government -- just throw cash at problems and thatll make everything better! Except when it gives you headaches, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia…and then your house burns down. So how did we get from a federal stimulus to the potential for mortal danger in your own home? Its not too complicated. The stimulus offered up an irresistible $4.5 billion package to improve the U.S. power grid. But instead of improving it, shysters figured out how to funnel off big chunks of those billions to push so-called smart meters as the magic answer to all our energy woes. If you havent heard of smart meters yet, you will. Oh theyre coming for you, you can bet on that. And if you HAVE heard of them, theres a good chance your local utility company has already forced a smart meter installation in your home. And if thats the case, then you might already know firsthand about the headaches, fatigue, dizziness, etc. In spite of official assurances that smart meters are safe, the meters pile on an unnecessary burden to our already overloaded exposure to radiofrequency radiation (RF). Thats why many people with smart meters are reporting health problems like the ones listed above -- along with tinnitus, vision problems, memory lapses and more. And even the World Health Organization has recognized RF as a possible carcinogen, so we might be looking at horrible consequences down the road. Worst of all, power companies are FORCING smart meters on us. You dont want one? Sure, you can opt out. But most utilities charge an opt out fee, and then a monthly fee on top of that! You have to pay them to NOT use the meters that many of them purchased with stimulus money! Its insane! But whats most insane is the actual installation of the meters. When a harried, underpaid worker tries to connect old wiring to new technology, sometimes it just doesnt mesh and the house burns down. Smart meters have reportedly been linked to numerous homes going up in flames. And on top of all of this, your smart meter gathers information about your personal habits. So then, what if the system gets hacked? What if your power company sells your information to marketers? What if a brainy burglar with a laptop monitors your power usage and figures out when youre on vacation? All that information is vulnerable. And once its out there, you cant control it.
