Smash 4 Direct Speculation Sticky Thread. What Im expecting to see: - Ridley confirmed (Todays Pic of the Day was of the Metroid AT, and while its a bit of a stretch, Im taking that as a hint that Metroids getting a new character) - A release date confirmed. Some Japanese sites are teasing that its going to be released in 2015, but Sakurais gone on record saying hell get it out in 2014, come hell or high water. Iwatas on the chopping block and theres a shareholder meeting coming this June, and the Wii U is chugging pretty badly atm, so if he doesnt want to lose his job, he better have good news ready. - A veteran or two confirmed. Still no Yoshi... - Maybe some more gameplay footage for us to pour over like the buncha geeks we are. I would like to see: - Sakurai talking a bit about match recordings and replays, and if replays, if they exist at all, still have the three minute time limit. As a recorder/streamer and with no Gecko homebrew for the Wii U, this is pretty important to me. - Cross-platform connectivity between the 3DS and the Wii U. The original theory back in 2012 was that you could make a character on the 3DS and port and play it on the Wii U. It probably wouldnt be tourney legal but itd be a hoot. - Wario confirmed (and a clip with him having a normal grab-release animation). What I can only dream for: - A downloadable demo available at the end of this Direct - Customizable content confirmed. Music should be as easy as allowing support for .mp3 (or .ogg or .flac, depending on how nerdy you are) files and just copy-and-pasting them. That would be nice. - Wonder Red confirmed.
