Smiling from ear to ear, chicken skin and goosebumps. Death with Dignity. Our dreaming world is infused with a bit of a miracle message: another way, another young womans brain cancer story, different choice (for contrast) and a heroines courageous journey to ignite something in her teammates and within us all. I stand in awe of the human spirit and her love. I took an unpopular stance yesterday with my responses to Brittany Maynards decision to use her decision to end her life as a platform for the right to die with dignity. Most of my friends commenting were defending her decision mentioning the amount of suffering she had endured and would face according to her doctors. Some said they would choose the same thing. I said it was her choice to end her life but she did harm to take it public, first on social media and then through a media platform. I also see nothing dignifying in that decision. I even said Brittany would be scolded in heaven when she reviewed her choice (Marys input). And this morning we get another story, so that we can weigh the value of even weeks of life and what you can do with them. This 19 y.o. girl also has only weeks to live from brain cancer, debilitating headaches and limited functioning yet she has something very different to communicate than Brittany. She wants to be a spokesperson for the cure of pediatric cancer during her last days. By the way, the number 22 is no random number. It is the number of a spiritual master.
