Snobbish councillors only gave the green light for a giant superstore in Birmingham because it was posh Marks & Spencer, it has been claimed. Other store chains like Tesco or even Primark may have failed to secure the green light for massive retail park on the former Rover site at Longbridge, the city’s planning committee was told. Plans for the site off Longbridge Lane include nine medium sized stores and a multi-storey car park, along with a huge M&S. What do you think?
