So - set up both the hav-a-heart trap and the drop-trap today (belt AND suspenders). Gorgeous George, my main target, takes one look, laughs at me, and goes back to the porch, where he knows theres food. Patience... patience....I move the hav-a-hart, and put something more savory in the drop-trap. Back around the corner, hear chomping, and theres Kerplunk, in the trap. George is watching, but doesnt want it once Kerplunks cooties are on it, apparently, as he steps halfway into the trap and walks away. Again. Move to the side of the garage, and I can see a black cat by the other trap, and since there are two black ones I need to trap I am very excited. Im watching - and I see the cat settle down and eat - but the trap didnt trip. Get a little closer - and theres Goatee, who was trapped six or seven years ago, eating like a giraffe - neck stretched to the max so he can reach the bowl without stepping on the trigger. Its not easy realizing that your cats are smarter than you are.
