With this information I have come to the realization that a base-form, crustacean enthusiast raised this Krabby and kept mashing B as it leveled up (causing it to raise beyond Lv.50, learn all its moves but STILL remain in its Krabby form) Then the trainer went to buy a PokeCola after a hard day of training and Krabby has wandered off, still weak, only to find Ash and be captured. Thus, the battle with Exeggcutor in the prelims caused it to raise 1 level and evolve, ruining all the trainers hard work. My other conclusion is that Professor Oak raised it and didnt allow it to evolve so that Ash would get a surprise. Either way, Im gonna stop reading into the logic of childrens cartoons.
