So FB is filled with pictures of the Giaints in Liverpool. I fail to see the spectacle in it all. A simply staggering amount of people flocked into the city, spending most of the day in similar conditions to a battery chicken, with temperatures close to cooking. The Giants themselves, were crudely built from scrap, and yet took an army of people to manoeuvre the assortment of scrap iron encased Mad Max styled vehicles, all of which looked fit for only the breakers yard. Apparently technology hasnt reached the French yet. And whilst on the matter of the French, cliché as it might be, many of them were both arrogant and rude towards the public and public services. The French appear not to like rules or constraints. In balance, yes, seeing the circus act trundle by could be mildly amusing in the essence of curiosity. But those who have seen the theatre production of War Horse, will note that a puppet can.be created with elegance and grace. Similarly, Gerry Anderson has given the world so many great tv shows, mastering the art of puppetry. No, I fail to see the attraction of sweaty French people playing with absurd puppets. Who wanted to see the the little girl piss in the street? Assuming for a moment that I am alone in my view, and this show is the greatest thing to happen to Liverpool. Then is it necessary to close most of the city, causing gridlock and chaos. Couldnt a performance been staged at Newsham Park. Maybe I am wrong. I happen to find the French Citroën 2CV to be crude, ugly, and a antiquity, yet people actually paid to own them.
