So I (Onye, an african-based contemporary dancer heavily influenced by Aikido, Yoga, Butoh among other things) am working with a Hawaiian born, Javanese trained contemporary dancer, Peggy Choy, we are presenting an collection of dance works at Links Hall Oct 10-12. We are describing what we are doing as a new afro-asian futurism. The term recently drew a bit of laughter from some very smart dance friends of mine..... like it was dated or something.
