So I already know this post is going to generate a lot of traffic so keep the conversation clean please... story goes: I had a UNCC guard try to mess with me tonight... I tried to pull a fast one and quickly park in the handicapped space for 90 seconds while I went into the circle K on University City Blvd. When I came out he was parked behind me and pissed off. My wife, who was with me, had gone to the red box. All the other spots were filled or I wouldnt have parked there. I NEVER do that anywhere, but go figure the one time I do some renta-cop decides he wants to be billy bad-ass. He started by scolding me for parking there. I explained I was in the store for 90 seconds, apologized and would gladly move my car while my wife was at the RedBox. He was parked behind me blocking me in and was acting like he was going to write me a ticket at this point. I didnt want to argue with him so I just played along and apologized stating that I never do this and that there were no parking spots. My wife was also with me and I wasnt going to park away from the store for safety reasons. He asked for my drivers liscense which I handed over. (I was reluctant even though he didnt know it as I knew he was a UNCC Guard/Police whatever.) I asked if he wished for me to move my car, he said no, hold on. I waited... He went to his car (8 feet from my car door) and took about 4-5 min (MUCH LONGER THAN I TOOK IN THE STORE) before coming back. He handed me my liscense, no ticket, then scolded me some-more. I apologized more, he moved his car, I got in mine and drove away. No harm no foul really but just pissed me off. I did pass a real cop about 1/4 mile down the road next to campus a few seconds later. Makes me wander, did he radio the REAL cop to write me a ticket while blocking me in? This ordeal also has me wandering about their jurisdiction and capabilities. I wanted to question him about them but what could I do? He would have found a reason to screw with me more. So my question is what COULD this officer have done?
