So I am sitting here watching the end of Paul McCartney in Performance at the White House on PBS (apparently you can watch it on line at pbs.org), with his band, and Stevie Wonder, Emmylou Harris, Herbie Hancock, Jerry Seinfeld, Elvis Costello the Jonas Brothers, and so many others. What struck me more than the music (he played Michelle, Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby, and Let it Be) which was amazing, was that we had a black President giving a high award for the arts, to a British Knight (Sir Paul) who was playing a Japanese piano (Yamaha) while seated under a full size painting of George Washington...wow - the History just flows and swirls...very cool!
