So I am so very sad. I Love the Decatur Celebration. I have gone every year and I go every day. even the Thursday carnival night. Last year a whole city street disappeared from the festival map and Merchant street was turned into a Wine Garden. This year there was only 4 vendors on State Steet and most of water street was bare of vendors. I hear all trhe time how they are losing money. to make the money they sell wristbands and 5o/50 and so forth. SO the Decatur Celebration NEEDS the ppl to caome in droves like they use to. To do that they have been doing a really good job at getting good show, but they need to get the vendors back. They need the arts and crafts booths returned.l Also alot of the revenue should come from vendor booths, but at the prices they charge for a 10x10 space is a little crazy since most arts and craft vendors are hobbist. SO this gal who has loved the Decatur Celebration Since the first year it opened is crying inside at the way it is dying.
