So I dont often weigh in on political issues, but Gov. Rick Perrys - TopicsExpress

So I dont often weigh in on political issues, but Gov. Rick Perrys recent indictment for supposed abuse of power may be the most ridiculous politically motivated abuse of process I have ever heard of. The basis for the charges? He asked district prosecuting attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to step down as the head of a government INTEGRITY program after she she was arrested for drunk driving, threatened police, and spent 45 days in jail. When she refused to resign, he used his constitutional executive power to veto funding for her program. The problem? Ms. Lehmberg is a democrat, and apparently has friends who are more than willing to sacrifice the integrity of the justice system to make a political point. Now a special prosecutor has charged Perry with several felonies for allegedly abusing his position, even though he simply exercised his constitutional power to ensure that government integrity was not being safeguarded by someone who had demonstrated a complete lack of integrity. Somehow after watching Lehmbergs antics, I can understand why Perry would lose confidence in her ability to lead. While democrats apparently think this will hurt Perrys 2016 bid for the white house, I tend to think the opposite is true. Personally, I will be much more likely to vote for a man of principal who will insist on real integrity in office instead of the political posturing offered by his opposition. youtu.be/a1Uo9d28FQ0
