So I feel bad. So heres my story. I get home and Im doing my normal chores, I turned on the dryer and was starting to wash dishes. I had the door to the laundry room open so I could take trash out etc..Dixie walks up to the door way to the laundry room and starts to whimper...she wont go in but her body is stretched like something is scaring her..I said Dixie, quit. She keeps whimpering so I walk towards the laundry too and stArt asking her whats wrong, totally afraid its a snake or mouse or something, when I notice a horrible smell, it smells like something is burning. I approach the dryer and the smell gets stronger so I open the door, Dixie is still whimpering, and realize the clothes are just laying in the bottom and they are wet but not cold, I feel there is some warmth. It takes me a minute to realize that my sons little leather wallet has wedged itself just right up above and its preventing the dryer from turning round and round, so while the dryer is heating it is not rotating and the smell is nasty, so I grab the wallet and it takes all my might to get it to come out of the place its wedged but finally its free. Close the door and dryer is working and Dixie walks away. I am amazed at 5 months that she was able to detect the danger. My house is pure wood and my washer and dryer sit right next to my gas water heater, if she hadnt warned me it could have burnt that motor and caused a fast spreading fire or even exploded!! It wouldnt have taken long at all because the smell was getter worse by the minute. Thank god for my lil Dixie! If she can take the time to save my families life we can damn sure take the time to train her and make her a better doggie! I see the big picture now! I get it!
