So I got 90 minutes between two work commitments. Took my jacket and my tie off got my camera and two lenses (one in a cloth bag) and walked around the Intercontinental Bangkok Hotel. My uneducated observation cannot describe what was happening, except that it was all happening at the same time, an outdoors temple, people praying, some religious performance, traffic on the street, people walking on a first floor skywalk and trains zooming on a second floor level. Songs, a loud advertising event by an American soda drink, the overwealming smell of burning incense, giant screens on concrete skyscrapers flickering, a complete assault on the senses, a scene from Blade Runner or something. Bangkok was colorful, mind-blowing, intense, spiritual, warm, super-humid, modern, traditional, impossible to understand if you dont invest time. And all I got was 90 minutes. I am still grateful for the opportunity. I will be back.
