So, I got Juliannas lung function results today. Not good. They are puzzled b/c she is consistent w/ asthma, but her function is not reversed by the albuterol. She is considered moderately obstructed right now, with no improvement using the rescue meds. The doc called me 3 times today, consulted with the pulmonologist, who wants to see her ASAP, and they formulated the plan to put her on oral steroids for 2 weeks, then retest the full pulmonary function down at U of MD, then they will see her 10/1. Not sure what happens if the steroids improve her function and not sure what happens if they dont, but headed for more testing at that point. My poor girl is having a rough week with her symptoms and was put on steroids on Mon, which made her itch all over. They will monitor the itching now, too, if it comes back. Poor kid is so wiped out from having trouble breathing. This was not the news I was hoping to hear.
