So I got my first bus to work today as car is getting MOTd... From the new hometown of stockbridge. Walked on and I nearly choked on the waft of rich perfume and Aramis aftershave.. I then proceeded to walk down the bus and didnt even have to navigate round obstacles like rolling beer cans, plastic bottles and loose papers. People even shuffled in their seat to make sure I knew they were happy for me to sit Down. I was even offered a metro to read!?! It was not what Im used to having got the bus from Mayfield for years. Stench of pish, Metro papers in 1000 pieces all over the floor, more plastic bottles than the local newsagent and more chavs than I could count. Truth is, I think I preferred the Mayfield bus. You know where you stood on the social scale and it was usually entertaining with drunk oldies singing to their WALKMAN. You can take the boy outta Mayfield, but you cant take Mayfield out the boy.
